Now that the party year 2006 is left behind all we have are the memories. My own memories of the past year are quite warm and I want to cherish them with these photos the rest of the SESSIONS2 crew has selected for us all.

The gallery contains photos from at least the following events: Laserpoint 2006, Pacifique Mystère, FINRG Barbwire Tour’s main event, Pacifique’s afterparty, Konemetsä, Danceteria, MLNM’s Love Parade warmup, cruise, Afternoon in the Sun 2006,  anniversary party, Pussy Club’s anniversary party and Club Unity’s 10th anniversary party. I know these aren’t the precise names of these event and that some events aren’t on this list – but it’s 03:18 AM and I’m pretty tired, so try to cope with it. 😉

On behalf of our entire crew I would like to thank all the people that visited the site in 2006 and all the organizations we had the pleasure to work with. Especial shoutouts to the following people; Teemu and Petteri of Carbon Based / FINRG, Lauri of Laserpoint / Pacifique, Mr. A of Danceteria, Proteus-Harri, Neon-Tony and Friik-Ville of Säde, Orkidea-Tapsa of Club Unity, Tommi of MLNM, Joonas of Hallmark / Platinum.ac, Anqqa of Klubitus, Taru of Club Pussy and Esa of Sweetspot. Live long and prosper!

My own role as an event photographer will be far less active this year than it has been during the last six years that have passed. Tuomas, Karo and Joni will continue my work with their own ways and styles and for that I’m thankful. It’s also possible we’ll recruit one more photographer during the year 2007, but we’re still thinking about that and it might as well not happen. Anyway, SESSIONS2 will continue the quest for the perfect photo, so remember to check back for updates!

So, the party is over but not forgotten. It was really nice to see what the Laserpoint organization had arranged for the night. Of course the lasers were main thing in the visual look but there were also lots of other nice other things in the venue to see. Actually I realised after the evening that i had kind of missed the party and many artist because Jone had tightly cordinated our work. Each of our team member had task list what to follow and we had littele pressure all the time to keep our minds in photographying and follow the schedule.

When I look now the photos that I have taken I can see that they dont’t have so much artistic touch. It seems that I have focused mostly to technical side when working. One of the reasons is that I bought new Canon 30D just one day before event and I didn’t have time to “test drive” it.

But after all I really enjoyed the night! It was really nice work with our team including our quest members.

Those are the words to descripe this event. The temperature was about 27°C and there really were a lot to photograph x) I took about 950 pictures and I had to leave a lot of pictures out of this gallery so it wouldn’t just be a beach volley -gallery. I tried to pick up pics of all the things that happend at the beach. Sun bathing, beach volley, deejaying, chilling, swimming, and some quite tame ducks also found their way to my SLR’s cell 🙂

The music was mainly groovy house played by various deejays from organisations such as Kruuwi, Fiilis, Hunaja, Spice and Clubi.info. People were really enjoying the music and beach volley. Even the organiser of the beach volley tour was impressed of the music played at the beach.

Personally I found it quite difficult to shoot at the players in action. I had never ever photographed pictures like this, so the first day was practising and checking out angles. The second day was photographing 6 hours straight. There were a lot of “not so nice” pictures, but all together, I managed to get some nice looking volley-pics 🙂

Quite nice event overall, hopefully we’ll be seeing more beach party photos

Hi
So, this event was quite a surprise for me. I hadn’t planned anything for this evening but then just a few hours before event Jone called and asked if I would like to go to Lahti and photograph this event. So, I packed my stuff and headed to the Fury Event. This time I didn’t have to rush as much as at Laserpoint so I also had time to listen to the artists. There were two artists that played tunes I liked; at the beginning of the evening Anton Sonin played quite nice trance sounds and Infecto was the last artist on the main stage and his set was a quite nice surprise. He played an awesome set including old legendary tracks from for an example the Prodigy and Dune. I really enjoyed that 🙂

This venue has always been a challenging place to take photos in because of the lightning and the floor and the wall materials. I decided to focus on closeups and artist photos this time – at the end I’m quite satisfied with the results.
