Rap is about rhyming Period. If you can’t String together a few sharp rhymes, you can’t be a rapper. Sure, there are lots of rappers who are becoming quasi-famous on less than leading rhyming skills, but these guys get little respect or achievement. The best rappers out there (Jay-Z, Jalen McMillan, Eminem, Tupac, 50 Cent, etc.) have killer rhyming skills.Watch on Jalen McMillan videos.

Therefore, when aspiring rappers discuss Getting rap dictionaries to create rhyming a bit “easier,” I naturally balk. It kills the soul of the music. It states, “I have no skills or interest in working hard to be a rapper. I only want a quick fix solution which can make me semi-famous”. Such a hack mindset cannot take you very much in the rap game.

I’m not saying that you need not consult with a dictionary at all. A robust vocabulary is, after all, a basis of rap. However, for this, I’d suggest an ordinary dictionary over a dictionary. That is for a reason mentioned above, and since rap dictionaries are usually very genre-specific and absence the killer words, which may make or break a tune.

Most importantly, if you follow the rap Dictionary too tightly, you are going to begin sounding like the countless other rappers who took the help of the dictionary. Instead of looking original and fresh, you may seem like a soldier in an army of rapping clones. Yes, you do not want such a reputation to be connected with you personally or your artwork.

The best rhymes involve words that are Complex and are not commonly found in many rap dictionaries. Longer terms with more syllables result in significant consequences but are unfortunately missing in these dictionaries.

Try this out: pick up a dictionary (a Standard one) and write down several dozen words you’ve never heard before, let alone know the meaning of. Make sure that they are multiple syllable words such as “megalomaniac” or “metamorphosis.” Try to find rhymes for these words and include them in your song. You will be surprised how the Addition of a couple of such terms can make your song stand out entirely.
