SESSIONS2 Photographers
Sometimes clubbers or other event photographers have wondered, what it needs to be a SESSIONS2 photographer and how the team has been selected at all. Here is some info about
what we do and what are the principles of our work.
Two most important factors are, that S2-photographer has to be a social person with adequate manners getting along with everyone else: Artists, clubbers, promoters and other employees - we just can't
achieve good photos or do our work properly without paying regard to other people at clubs. The second thing is that we can work as a part of a bigger team putting aside our personal
needs and wishes for the purpose of getting the job done properly.
SESSIONS2 photographers are not John Rambos with cameras jumping around the venue shooting frames all around trying to be the stars of the night - our goal is to live in a paradox:
1) Be unseen but noticeable, 2) being sure that taking a photo is ok without disturbing the target, 3) photographing strong pictures but being moderate and decent.
Our goal has been to build up a team that can cover the most demaning club events in Finland but also the smaller local events. To reach that goal we had to get enough event photographers whos photographing
filosofy was, were, and is equal to SESSIONS2's. We have achieved that by signing previous assistant photographers and some new comers. Nevertheless we are constantly aware of other event
photographers in the field respecting their work. Someday, when you least excpect it, we might sign up more photographers but there isn't anykind of 'rule of thirds' to be followed in that kind of circumstances.
